What is Orange Elephant Ice Cream?
Orange Elephant Ice Cream is the award-winning luxury ice cream we make by hand in small batches on our Devonshire Dairy Ice Cream Farm. We use the rich, creamy milk from our herd of Devonshire Milking Cows as the base of our ice cream, giving it the authentic taste of Devon.
What are Orange Elephants?
'Orange Elephant' is the nickname for the original Devonshire Milking Cow, the South Devon, because of their large bodies, rusty-coloured coats, long noses and big ears. South Devon cows don't produce as much milk as their black and white friends, but what they produce is far creamier - perfect for ice cream! We are breeding Devonshire Milking Cows to make them produce more of that delicious creamy milk. Look out for the big orange cows when you're out walking in the Summer Meadow.
Come down and visit The Orange Elephant where you can see the cows and try the ice cream.
What flavours do you make?
Our small batch process means that our flavours are constantly changing. We can't guarantee every flavour at every visit, so why not try something new?
Now I'm hungry, where can I get some ice cream?
You can buy Orange Elephant Ice Cream in take-home tubs, or have a decadent cone or sundae. We also serve Orange Elephant Ice Cream at food fairs, fetes and shows around the county.
